Come on down to THE CAVE this Friday May 12th. It will be a practice night, and night to discuss the upcoming Hard Body Class. Starts at 7pm until ? Getting a lot of questions about parts to build the cars. Rick has parts at The Cave Speedway, please try to see if he has what you need first, since he has invested a lot for parts inventory....If he doesnt have what you want then you can visit www.ncphobbies.com. They have lots of parts at decent prices. Also I have added a parts list for the Late Models in adobe format in the info section. This if for reference and shows the different parts we have used for the Late Model. The Hard Body Class is still under development but once parts have been decided upon, those will be posted also. You can get custom decal sheets from Mark Tutton at 540.868.0162 or email him starfighterace@yahoo.com. Tell him Mike Parrill sent you there for THE CAVE SPEEDWAY!! The Cave Speedway is basically "closed" after completing its thrilling Winter Points Season. Congratulations to J.P. Welsh, Cave Speedway Track Champion!! Racing will be held at The Cave on a periodic basis throughout the summer months. Keep checking our web site for updates on dates or call (540) 636-1380 (Rick) for further information. As soon as the final details are completed on the 2006 Winter Points Season schedule it will be posted here so again, keep checking back for updates. Thanks to all who helped make the 2005 Winter Points Season a HUGE success!

The last official race of the 2006 season was run at The Cave Friday night. For the first time ever The Cave had a pill draw for starting position for the feature. Matt started on the pole position with JP along side in Lane 2. Matt and JP battled each other hard the entire race swapping the lead five times before JP moved out front and stayed there. A hard charging Tyler bumped Matt to third with a pass late in the last segment. The final finishing order was: 1st - JP; 2nd - Tyler; 3rd - Matt; 4th - Rick; 5th - Dwain; 6th -Dennis. The decision to race during the summer months will be made on a week to week basis. Check the web site each week and we will try to let you know in enough time to join us. There are a lot of exciting upgrades and changes being discussed for The Cave so if you want to be in on the points race in 2007, this summer would be a good time to get some lap time and "learn the ropes". We are hoping to have standing room only crowds next season and...

The quickest qualifier of the night was once again Matt, turning a 2.424 second lap and earning the pole position in Heat #1 at The Cave Friday night. The rest of the line-up for Heat #1 was Rick, Tim S. and Tim D. Matt held off the other drivers to win Heat #1 followed by Rick, Tim S. and Tim D. Heat #2 had JP on the pole with Dwain, Mike P. and Travis rounding out the field. JP took the win in Heat #2. The B-Main was a close one with the top four finishers transferring to the feature. They were Mike P., Tim S., Rick and Dwain. Matt and JP battled each other for the lead in the first few segments but Matt started opening up a sizeable lead over the field and never looked back, leading the race from start to finish. Bragging rights for second was a toss up right up to the end with a four way tie for second until the last few laps were completed. Matt wins the feature and puts his name on the "Race of Champions" list for next year. The final run down was: 1st - Mat...
