Cave Racing Memories

Due to extensive water damage to the track, racing for this Friday, January 29th, has been CANCELLED . The Santa Claus 100, reschedule from another date, will be run next Friday, February 5th, along with a Pure Stock feature. Friday, March 19th, has been added to the schedule and will be the date for the Pure Stock and Late Model make up races. We apologize for any inconvenience. Rick will try to have the racing surface repaired and ready for next Friday. Any questions, give him a call.

Brian Massey of Winchester Virginia captured his first Late Model victory since opening night this past Saturday evening by narrowly edging runner up Travis Clark. By taking the checkered flag, Massey broke what had seemingly become a trend of Sagi/Cooper domination at The Cave. In Pure Stock news, Mike Nail also of Winchester Virginia, took home his second Pure Stock feature in a row and closing the gap on points leader Junior Cooper. Full results to come. Mike Nail of Winchester, Virginia won the Phil and Jerry's Market 600 for the Pure Stock Division on Saturday night. Junior Cooper won the make-up Late Model feature. More details to come.

On a wild and heavy night Junior Cooper continued his mastery of the Cave in the Late Models and the Street Stocks as well. Every one was just waving as Junior sailed by and notched a commanding lead in both divisions. The payoff for winning brought a big smile to Juniors face as he claimed he was going to treat his pit crew to the $1 meal extravaganza at McDonald's at the end of the season. This week is the "big one" for the street stocks and also scheduled is a late model make up race. See ya ' all at the Cave!

Proving he hasn't forgotten his way around The Cave Speedway, Junior Cooper topped the field on Saturday evening extending his point's lead over second place Tyler Williamson and Fast Qualifier Travis Clark. Full details to come.
